AMCOL International Corporation, and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “AMCOL,” “we” or “us”) take your privacy seriously. We use the information you voluntarily provide, together with information regarding the manner in which you use this web site, and other web sites of AMCOL that are linked to or associated this web site (collectively, our “sites”), to provide you with requested information, and to improve our sites, products and services. AMCOL is committed to data security, and to protecting the personal information of our site users.
Information Gathered on Our Sites
We collect two types of information from visitors to our sites:
- We collect personal data such as names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone/fax numbers, customer account numbers, and the content of e-mail submissions sent to us, when voluntarily submitted by visitors to our sites. You do not need to disclose any personally-identifiable information to view our sites.
- Certain non-personal information is also automatically collected from our visitors when they access our sites, such as information about traffic patterns on our sites, the total number of users logging into one or more sites on a daily basis, which pages users access, the URL from which each user comes to our sites, the URL to which each user exits, the type of browser used by each user, and the IP address from which a user accesses our sites.
What Do We Do With This Information?
Information voluntarily submitted to us is used to contact users for the purpose for which the information was provided (e.g., to correspond with you, process an order, provide you with corporate or product information, or process an application for employment). In addition, we may from time to time use this information to contact users about products and services offered by AMCOL.
Except as set forth herein, AMCOL will not sell, trade or rent your personal data to third parties without your prior permission. AMCOL may share your data with our organization, and with web site hosting partners and other parties who assist AMCOL in operating our sites and our computer systems. Such third parties have adopted their own Privacy Policies or signed confidentiality agreements with AMCOL obligating them to keep user data confidential. AMCOL may also transfer your personal data in connection with divestitures or similar transactions to any successor to any of AMCOL’s business units. AMCOL also reserves the right to disclose any information if we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
Information automatically collected from users of our sites is used internally to improve our sites, products and services. We may also share aggregate data about the number and frequency of visitors to one or more of our sites, and the manner in which customers or dealers use the site, with our service providers, dealers or other business partners.
We use “cookies” on this site to help you use our sites more easily, and to help us to keep track of certain statistical information so that we can continuously improve our sites and our service to you. A “cookie” is a small data file that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your hard drive to help our sites “remember” information about you when you visit our sites, such as your preferences for our sites and any user passwords. Our cookies cannot read data off of your hard drive or read cookie files created by other websites. You may be able to set your browser to disable cookies or to notify you when you receive a cookie.
Security of Information
AMCOL takes measures designed to protect the security of the information transmitted between browsers and our web server, including using firewalls and other security technologies where deemed appropriate by AMCOL. To protect your privacy, however, please do not use e-mail or our sites to communicate information you wish to be kept strictly confidential. You acknowledge that any transmission of data may be illegally intercepted and used by third parties. AMCOL shall not be responsible for any interception of data transmitted to or from our web server.
